Who we are
Celestial Retreat Pty Ltd (ABN pending) looks after the details you give this site. You can reach us at hello@celestialretreat.com.au.
What we collect
- If you join the list: your email address, your name if you give it, and when you agreed to hear from us.
- If you reserve a Founder Stay: your name, email address and mobile number, and the nights you chose. For a gift, also the recipient's name and email address, and your message to them.
- If you pay: card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number goes straight to Stripe; this site never sees or stores it. We keep Stripe's reference to the payment, so we can match it to your booking.
Why
- To tell you when Founder Stays go on sale and when the retreat opens, if you joined the list.
- To confirm your booking, send a gift for you, arrange your dates and the balance, and contact you about your stay.
We use your details for these things only, never for advertising, and this site sets no tracking cookies.
Counting visits
We count visits with our own privacy-friendly analytics: which pages are read, for how long, which buttons are pressed, and whether your device is set to an Australian or New Zealand time zone. It uses no cookies and stores no IP addresses, and each visitor is an anonymous id that changes every day. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we don't count your visit. We only note, without any identifier, that someone joined the list or started a reservation.
Where it is kept
On our own server in Australia, which we run ourselves; our hosting provider keeps its backups.
Resend sends our emails for us, and ImprovMX forwards the mail you write to hello@celestialretreat.com.au. Both may process email addresses and the messages themselves overseas. Card payments are handled by Stripe, which may also process your details overseas.
Our server keeps short technical logs to keep the site running. The site's own logs don't include IP addresses. Our web server and the system it runs on may briefly record technical details, including IP addresses, to keep the site secure; the web server's error logs may also include the address of the page you asked for. Those logs are rotated and deleted after a while.
Who sees it
We never sell your details, and we never share them for anyone's marketing. Stripe, our email service and our hosting provider handle only what they need to do their part.
How long we keep it
- The list: until you ask to come off it.
- Bookings: for as long as your stay is open, then for as long as the law requires us to keep business records.
Seeing, correcting or deleting it
Write to hello@celestialretreat.com.au and we'll show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it, and tell you when it's done. The only exception is booking records the law requires us to keep.
