Who you are dealing with
Founder Stays are sold by Celestial Retreat Pty Ltd (ABN pending), the company that runs Celestial Retreat. You can reach us at hello@celestialretreat.com.au.
Before we open
Celestial Retreat is still being built. We plan to open in July–August 2027. A Founder Stay lets you secure a stay now, at a lower rate, before the calendar opens.
What a Founder Stay is
- One booking of 1 to 14 nights, at the founder rate of $750 a night instead of the full rate of $1,200.
- Only 40 are offered. Each booking uses one, however many nights it holds.
- Each booking has its own Founder number, which appears on your confirmation. Founder numbers are given in order and are never reissued.
What you pay, and when
- Deposit: $500 a night, paid when you reserve, through Stripe.
- Balance: $250 a night, due when you lock in your dates after the calendar opens. We'll ask you for it then.
For example, 3 nights is a $1,500 deposit now and $750 later: $2,250 in all, instead of $3,600.
All prices in AUD, inclusive of all taxes and levies.
Choosing your dates
You don't choose dates when you reserve. When the calendar opens, we'll write to you, and you choose your nights from the dates available.
Where it is
A private hilltop in South Gippsland, Victoria. 90 minutes from Melbourne, 90 minutes from Wilsons Promontory. The exact address is shared when you confirm your dates.
When plans change
- If you need to change your dates, write to us and we'll do our best to help.
- If you can't come at all, you can transfer your stay to someone else (see below).
- If our opening moves, the founder rate is held for your Founder Stay, and our refund promise below still applies.
Our refund promise
If Celestial Retreat has not opened by 31 December 2027, your deposit is fully refundable. Write to us and it will be refunded in full to the card you paid with, or by bank transfer if that card is closed.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Transfers
You can transfer a Founder Stay to someone else. Write to hello@celestialretreat.com.au with their name and email address, and we'll move the booking into their name. The Founder number goes with it.
Gifts
When you reserve a Founder Stay as a gift:
- You pay the deposit. We send a gift email and certificate, with no prices shown, to the person you name, or to you to pass on.
- They pay the balance of $250 a night when they choose their dates, unless you chose to cover it yourself when you reserved. If you did, we'll ask you for it when their dates are set.
- If we have not opened by 31 December 2027, the deposit is refunded to you, the giver.
